About Me

🟠Hello! I am the Kate behind Kate Bodell Designs! Thank you for visiting my store. I am an author, poet and illustrator. I have always been drawn to bright colours and minimalist designs. I do love stripes and bold colour combinations but I subscribe to the idea that less is more.  

🟠On a basic level, I want my work to bring joy to you. I am also very interested in our mental health and how we can take care of ourselves in ways which require little research or spending of money. We have tools within us and around us that we can use on a daily basis to improve our mental health and live happier lives. I hope my art serves as a prompt/ reminder to take care of yourself.

🟠As well as poems, I write for children. I am very serious about being silly. I love sparking playfulness and laughter with my words. I would very much love to be the literary antidote to the intensity of the current school curriculum. This leads to another passion of mine: creativity, an essential part, I believe, of anyone's life, young or old. Play leads to creativity and creativity brings joy. And before you say it, NO, ITS NOT TRUE. WE ARE ALL CREATIVE. We've lost the ability to play and create and have fun for the sake of it. I'm here to encourage it back into your life, if I can.
